We provide comprehensive Personal and Sole Proprietorship Tax Declarations, including services for employees, dependants, self-employed individuals, small businesses, rental income, foreign employment income, and more.
When does CRA NETFILE open for the 2025 tax year?
CRA’s NETFILE service opens in late February 2026 for 2025 income tax returns. The exact date is announced annually by the CRA.
JA Accounting can start submitting tax declarations as of March 1, 2026.
What is the RRSP contribution deadline for tax year 2025?
The deadline to make RRSP contributions deductible for the 2025 tax year is March 2, 2026.
What is the filing deadline if I am not self-employed?
April 30, 2026 is the deadline to file your 2025 personal income tax return if you do not have self-employment income.
What is the filing deadline if I am self-employed?
June 15, 2026 is the filing deadline if you or your spouse or common-law partner had self-employment or sole proprietorship income in 2025.
However, the deadline to pay any balance owing remains April 30, 2026.
Note: If your business income relates primarily to a tax shelter investment, the filing deadline is April 30, 2026.
When is the payment deadline for taxes owing?
April 30, 2026 is the payment deadline for any balance owing, even if you are self-employed.
When are CRA instalment payments due?
Instalment payments for the 2026 calendar year are due on:
- March 15
- June 15
- September 15
- December 15
What documents are required for tax preparation?
A personalized list of required documents will be sent to you after booking your appointment or after you confirm your intention to file your taxes with us.
How can I submit my tax documents?
Documents can be uploaded securely through Intuit Link, or you may bring your documents in person to our office located at:

Is there a deadline to submit documents?
Yes. All documents must be submitted at least 5 days before your scheduled appointment or by April 15th to ensure timely preparation and filing.
How do I book an appointment?
Appointments can be booked online through our scheduling system on our website. Please use one of the above options to do so.
Can I choose between an in-office appointment and a Zoom meeting?
Yes. You may choose either an in-person appointment or an online Zoom meeting when booking.
Is an initial consultation required?
An initial consultation is not usually required unless your tax situation is complex, such as self-employment income, foreign income, multiple income sources, or prior-year issues.
How are your personal tax preparation fees calculated?

Is a deposit required when booking?
Yes. A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your appointment. This deposit is applied toward your final invoice, if the final invoice is different from the initial amount paid.
When is the remaining balance due?
The remaining balance, if any, is due on the day of your appointment or at the time your tax return is filed.
How long does it take to prepare and file my taxes?
Your tax return will be ready by your appointment date, provided all documents are submitted at least 5 days in advance. or 3-7 business days after submitting your documents if you choose the Drop-in service.
Will you review deductions and tax credits?
Yes. We review all applicable deductions, credits, and tax-saving opportunities during your appointment.
What happens after my tax return is filed?
You will first receive an Express Notice of Assessment from the CRA, followed by the official Notice of Assessment after the CRA review.
Will I receive copies of my filed tax returns?
Yes. You will receive copies of your T1 General and TP-1 General (for Quebec residents) after filing.
How do you protect my personal information?
We use secure, encrypted systems with two-factor authentication. Physical document storage is minimized unless specifically requested.
What if an error is found after filing?
We stand by the accuracy of our work. If an error on our part results in interest or penalties, we cover the cost and assist with amendments or refiling.
